Genital candidiasis, also known as a yeast infection, is a common fungal infection caused by the overgrowth of Candida species, primarily Candida albicans. While both men and women can develop genital candidiasis, it is more frequently reported in women.

Symptoms of Genital candidiasis

In Women:

  • Itching and irritation in the vagina and vulva.
  • A burning sensation, especially during intercourse or while urinating.
  • Redness and swelling of the vulva.
  • Vaginal pain and soreness.
  • Vaginal rash.
  • Thick, white, odor-free vaginal discharge with a cottage cheese appearance.

In Men:

  • Itching, burning, and redness around the head of the penis.
  • White, clumpy discharge under the foreskin.
  • Difficulty retracting the foreskin.

  • The primary cause of genital candidiasis is the overgrowth of Candida albicans, which is a part of the normal flora of the skin and mucous membranes but can multiply excessively under certain conditions.

Treatment of Genital candidiasis Naturally and Effective

  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 6 large lemons
  • 10 cloves of garlic
  • Half a glass of ginger
  • 4 full glasses of fresh massepo/perfumed leaf
  • 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (with the mother)

Preparation:

  1. Gather all the ingredients.
  2. Find a good container with a tight seal. Alternatively, you can boil the mixture if preferred.
  3. Combine the sea salt, lemons, garlic, ginger, massepo/perfumed leaf, and apple cider vinegar in the container.
  4. Add 3 liters of water to the mixture.
  5. Seal the container and leave it to ferment for 5 days at room temperature.
  6. After 5 days, store the mixture in the refrigerator.
  7. Drink a warm glass of the mixture every morning and evening.

Other Treatment for genital candidiasis typically includes antifungal medications, which are available in various forms:

  • Topical Antifungals: Creams, ointments, and suppositories containing miconazole, clotrimazole, or tioconazole are commonly used.
  • Oral Antifungals: Fluconazole is an oral medication often prescribed for more severe or recurrent infections.

Prevention

Preventative measures can help reduce the risk of developing genital candidiasis:

  • Maintain good hygiene and keep the genital area dry.
  • Wear breathable, cotton underwear and avoid tight clothing.
  • Change out of wet clothing, such as swimsuits or workout gear, promptly.
  • Avoid unnecessary use of antibiotics.
  • Manage blood sugar levels if you have diabetes.
  • Consider probiotics to maintain healthy vaginal flora.
