Fast-rising pop sensation Chappell Roan has announced that she will not be performing at the All Things Go Music Festival this weekend in New York and Washington, DC.
In a heartfelt statement shared via her Instagram Story on Friday, Roan explained that she’s stepping back to focus on her health, following an overwhelming few weeks.
The singer wrote, “I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform.” Roan expressed that she has been feeling the pressure from various commitments and needs a break to prioritize her well-being.
“Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks, and I am really feeling it. I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now, and I need a few days to prioritize my health.”
Roan was scheduled to perform on Saturday, September 28th, at the festival’s inaugural New York edition, followed by a performance in Washington, DC, on Sunday.

All Things Go festival organizers quickly responded with a statement of support for Roan’s decision. While they expressed disappointment over her absence, they emphasized the importance of prioritizing health.
“All Things Go strongly supports artists prioritizing their well-being, and we ask our community to rally around Chappell Roan with love and understanding,” the festival’s organizers said. “It’s important to remember that health and well-being always come first.” The festival has yet to announce a replacement for her performances.
This cancellation follows Roan’s recent revelation that she has been diagnosed with severe depression. The singer made the public disclosure earlier this week, sharing her struggles with mental health. Her decision to cancel the performances seems directly tied to her need to focus on recovery during this challenging time.
Roan has also been in the headlines for a statement she made about the upcoming U.S. election. Her comments were labeled “out of context,” but she clarified her stance, explaining that while she is voting for Vice President Kamala Harris, she is not officially endorsing any candidate.
This isn’t the first time Roan has taken a stand for her well-being. Just last month, she issued a statement addressing the “creepy behavior” of some fans. Roan condemned the normalization of “predatory behavior” in the entertainment industry and encouraged her fans to respect boundaries.
While fans may be disappointed with the weekend’s cancellations, many have already expressed their support for Roan on social media, echoing the importance of prioritizing mental health.
